Photon Force at UKNQTS 2025

The UK National Quantum Technologies Showcase is taking place on 7th November 2025 in London, and for the first time the event is part of the global celebration of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ 2025).

A big year for quantum technologies

The UK National Quantum Technologies showcase is organised by Innovate UK, in collaboration with the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme (UKNQTP).

In the many years that Photon Force has been attending this event, the Showcase has provided a chance to meet contacts, talk about single-photon-sensitive cameras/sensors and share our ongoing project involvement across the Innovate UK sphere.

This year, the UK quantum ecosystem is maturing, the international dimension is stronger and the role of companies like Photon Force is evolving. According to the official event page, the 2025 Showcase is “the biggest and most dynamic edition of the showcase to date, reflecting both UK momentum and international alignment through the IYQ”.

For Photon Force that means we’re shifting from talking about “what photon-counting cameras can do” to discussing “how photon-counting sensors are being integrated into real-world quantum systems, across various sectors”. Exciting!

What Photon Force brings to the quantum technology party

At our stand, we’ll spotlight how our single-photon sensitive cameras and sensors are able to impact in the following domains:

  • Quantum sensing and imaging: showing how high-throughput time-resolved single-photon detection is practical in non-lab environments
  • Quantum communications/satellite links: discussing how detector response time and reliability are becoming system-ready
  • Cross-sector quantum applications: explaining the role that photonics-based quantum hardware has in sectors such as defence, space, energy and semiconductors
  • Project-stories in motion: detailing our role in major Innovate UK programmes such as the QuEOD, HYDRI, TQEC, QT Assemble and Underwater Single Photon Imaging System.

Why stop by our stand?

If you’re attending the Showcase, here’s what you’ll gain from chatting with us:

  • A deep-dive into single-photon detection and time-resolved imaging – what’s changed in the last 12–18 months, what remains challenging and what our roadmap looks like
  • Real-world project insights: because we’re active in UKRI-backed programmes, we can talk in tangible terms about milestones, deployments and system-integration
  • Open-ended conversations about partnership: we’re interested in exploring new use-cases, especially where quantum meets industry and we can deploy our custom services to provide the perfect sensor, module or self-contained camera for your specific product.

Exciting times ahead in quantum technologies

As the UK’s quantum infrastructure matures and commercial adoption accelerates, this year’s Showcase is less about “what might happen” and more about “what is happening”. For Photon Force, this reflects a transition: from products for quantum research to systems readiness for quantum industry. We’ll be listening as much as we’ll be speaking!

If you’re planning to attend, be sure to come and see us – we’d love to catch up with old contacts, meet new ones and explore how, together, we can push quantum technologies into new application spaces.

See you in London on 7th November!
